One of Shakespeare’s brilliant tricks that he used was that he would often end where we started, and start at the ending. 

Funny enough, that’s exactly what this book has felt like, starting with an insight in Rome in 2008. Amazing the journey since then, concluding again in Rome….
I’m writing The Builders because I’ve spent years I’m writing The Builders because I’ve spent years studying the greatest value creators in history and applying those lessons in my own career.

What I’ve realized is this: there are patterns to how great things get built, and they can be learned so you can build something that matters, too.
This weekend is the first Berkshire annual meeting This weekend is the first Berkshire annual meeting without Warren presiding over it.

These meetings always felt like what it would be like to live in the Athenian forum listening to Plato and Aristotle talk.

But the real surprise is that he’s not just folksy old Uncle Warren, like everyone thinks of him. He’s intense, despite the public demeanor being the opposite.

Both sides of him are true — just as balanced-brain Builders can often be anything they need to be.
